Parents who Help Parents (2004-2007)

Parents from the community supported mothers in financial difficulty, by helping them directly with products for raising and caring for their children.

ACSIS encouraged parents from the community to offer their support to mothers in financial difficulty, by helping them directly with products for raising and caring for their children.

During this period, 10 families were supported by parents, who were periodically informed by the ACSIS Association of the progress made by the family/families which they had helped.

ACSIS acted as a mediator between parents who offered their support and those who received it. Moreover, it monitored the beneficiaries’ progress resulting from this support and offered social assistance to families in difficulty, with a view to helping them overcome their risky situation.

This type of intervention also helped these families overcome their marginalization, which was caused by extreme poverty, and contributed to the keeping of children in their families.
