About ACSIS

The Association for a United Community and Social Intervention–ACSIS was founded in 2004 as a private non-government, non-political, non-religious, non-profit legal person, being accredited as a social services provider.

We are an experienced team supporting the children and their families. The point of departure was the project Prevention of Maternal Abandonment (2000 – 2003), a project of the Swiss Foundation Terre des Hommes Lausanne, being targeted to the young mothers at risk of child abandonment.

Part of these mothers considered as decisive the support they received in a difficult period of their life, determining them to offer support, in their turn, to other mothers passing through similar situations. To this purpose, together with experts in the healthcare and social field, they founded ACSIS.

Everyone’s intimate opinion about the country and society in which they live is based on the most frequent facts they face with. The feeling of helplessness towards the situations overwhelming us in terms of social impact is formed the same way. ACSIS was started out of the initiative of several parents who confronted themselves with this feeling of helplessness and who could appreciate the importance of the appropriate support provided in a difficult moment for what it is worth.

Together with experts experienced in social assistance, ACSIS demonstrate every day that the education and specialized support can have a significant contribution to the positive change of the vulnerable people’s lives.
